Pure Mathematics (Advanced Level)

1. Develop students’ understanding of basic mathematical concepts.
2. Extend students’ mathematical skill in problem solving.
3. Further develop students’ ability to use basic logical pattern and conventions of reasoning.
4. Design for students intending to continue their studies in science, engineering and technology.

HKAL Examination

1. There are 2 papers each of 3 hours.
2. Paper I is mainly on Algebra and paper II is mainly on Calculus and Coordinate Geometry.
3. There are 2 sections in each paper:
1. Section A consists of around 8 compulsory short questions.
2. Section B allows the candidates to answer 4 out of 6 long questions.

Requirements

• Show interest in mathematics.
• Good logical thinking.
• Good result in HKCEE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
